Dedicated / Full Time Divisions

Force Response

Force Response is West Midlands Police's frontline. Response officers are the backbone of day-to-day policing, dealing with 999 calls, ongoing incidents, and immediate threats to life and property. They’re first on scene to everything from public disorder and assaults to missing persons and welfare checks, making fast decisions under pressure while maintaining public safety and control. Officers in this division often find they are able to gain more training, such as WMFS, DSU, WMAA, Taser, Carrier Ticket and more.

Roads Policing Unit

RPU focuses on keeping the roads safe and enforcing traffic laws across the region. Officers handle pursuits, serious collisions, vehicle stops, and proactive operations targeting dangerous driving, uninsured vehicles, and organised crime on the road network, often using specialist vehicles and tactics. Officers are trained to a high level, including Taser, Advanced Driver Ticket, TPAC etc, with training sessions lasting up to 3 hours and probation periods lasting 2 weeks.

Firearm Operations Unit

FOU provides armed response to high-risk incidents where there is a threat involving firearms or other lethal weapons. These officers are highly trained and deployed to critical situations such as armed suspects, hostage scenarios, and counter-terrorism support, ensuring incidents are resolved safely and effectively. Think you've got what it takes?

Force Control Room

FCR staff are the central hub of the force, responsible for receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, assessing risk, and dispatching officers. They manage live incidents, coordinate resources, and provide vital intelligence and support to units on the ground, keeping everything running behind the scenes.

Civilian

The Civilian division brings the world to life, with players taking on everyday roles such as members of the public, business owners, or individuals involved in both lawful and unlawful activities. Civilians drive the majority of interactions and scenarios, creating dynamic and unpredictable roleplay for emergency services to respond to.

WMAS / WMFS

These divisions cover both ambulance and fire services, responding to medical emergencies, fires, and major incidents. WMAS provides pre-hospital care, treating and transporting patients, while WMFS handles fire suppression, rescues, and hazard management—working closely with police to manage complex, multi-agency scenes.
